You are not separate from Him.

You long for a union with your Beloved, but that is not possible because your beloved is not far away. You have only forgotten Him; you have never been separated from Him. Separation cannot happen, because He resides inside you. He is the breath of our breath; He is our heartbeat. We cannot be without Him. We are because He is. Just as the ocean is, therefore the waves are. The ocean can be without the waves, but the waves cannot be without the ocean. However, the wave can suffer from an illusion that she is separate from the ocean. That illusion leads to forgetfulness. And, only forgetfulness can happen; separation cannot happen. The entire quest for the Beloved is nothing other than remembrance, remembering that which was always yours.

What is obstructing our remembrance?

Our identification with our ego.

When you drop the ego even for a split second, you realize that you are one with the Beloved. There is no need to do anything; no need to go anywhere.
