You just need to keep your door open.

God is like the sunshine waiting patiently outside your closed door. The moment you open the door the sunshine will come in, flooding your room with brightness and warmth.

You cannot create sunshine but you can stop it coming in. It will not force its way into your room; it will not even knock at your door; but the moment you allow it to come, it will come rushing in.

You need not make any effort to attain the eternal; you just be prepared to welcome it; you just don’t become the hurdle; you just keep your door open, so that when it comes it finds the door locked; so that when it comes looking for you, you are not at home or there is such a crowd that there is no space left.

All you need to do is keep your door open and wait patiently for the day to dawn and the sunshine will bathe you, unconditionally.
