ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ।।
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ।।
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ।।
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਮਹਾ ਗਰਬਿ ਗੁਬਾਰਿ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਾਰਿ।।੭੦।।

Bin satgur sevey jog na hoyee.
Bin satgur bhetey mukat na koyee.
Bin satgur bhetey naam paya na jaye.
Bin satgur bhetey maha dukh paye.
Bin satgur bhetey maha garab gubaar.

बिन सतगुर सेवे जोग न होई।।
बिन सतगुर भेटे मुकत न कोई।।
बिन सतगुर भेटे नाम पाया न जाए।।

You cannot be perfect in yoga without abiding by the Guru’s advice.
You cannot be liberated without meeting the Guru.
You cannot obtain Naam without meeting the Guru.
You are likely to suffer in pain without meeting the Guru.
You remain imprisoned in the darkness of ego without the Guru.
You remain bound in the cycle of birth and death without the Guru.
