ਜਾ ਇਹੁ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਦੇਹ ਨ ਹੋਤੀ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਕੈਠੈ ਰਹਤਾ।।
ਨਾਭਿ ਕਮਲ ਅਸਥੰਭ ਨ ਹੋਤੋ ਤਾ ਪਵਨੁ ਕਵਨ ਘਰਿ ਸਹਤਾ।।
ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਹੋਤੋ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਤਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਕਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ।।
ਰਕਤੁ ਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਮੜੀ ਨ ਹੋਤੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ।।
ਵਰਨੁ ਭੇਖੁ ਅਸਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਸਾਚਾ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਇਬ ਤਬ ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚਾ।।੬੬।।

Ja eh hirda deh na hoti tau mann kaithey rahta.
Naabh kamal asthambh na hoto ta pavan kavan ghar sahta.
Roop na hoto rekh na kaayee ta shabad kaha liv laayee.
Rakat bind ki marhi na hoti mitt keemat nahi paayee.
Varan bhekh asaroop na jaapi kyu kar jaapas saacha.
Nanak naam ratey bairagi ib tab saacho saacha.66.

Question: When the body and heart did not exist, where did the mind reside?
When there was no lotus (navel), where did the breath come from?
When there was no form or shape, then how could one immerse in the Word?
With no body formed of egg and sperm, how could one know the value of the divine?
With no signs or symbols and no form, how could one see the divine?
Answer: By loving Naam you can see the divine all the time and everywhere.
