ਰੰਗਿ ਨ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਸਿ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਤਾ।।
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਾਤਾ।।
ਬਿੰਦੁ ਨ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਖਿਆ।।
ਪਵਨੁ ਨ ਸਾਧਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ।।
ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਲੇ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੈ।।
ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮ ਕਉ ਲਹੈ।।੬੨।।

Rang na raata ras nahi maata.
Bin gur shabadey jal bal taata.
Bind na raakhya shabad na bhaakhya.
Pavan na sadhya sach na aaradhya.
Akath katha ley sam kar rahey.
Tau Nanak atam Ram ko lahey.62.

रँग न राता रस नही माता।।
बिन गुर सबदै जल बल ताता।।
बिँद न राखिया सबद न भाखिया।।
पवन न साधिया सच न आराधिया।।
अकथ कथा ले सम कर रहै।।
तौ नानक आतम राम को लहै।। 62।।

Without having tasted love or without being intoxicated with it,
And, without the Guru’s word, you suffer as though you are on fire.
You are not a celebate if you have not let Naam resound in your body.
You have no control on your breath if you have not remembered Naam continuously.
If you understand the One that is beyond description and treat pain and pleasure equally,
Then you have arrived at the truth and you remain immersed in the all-pervading divinity.
