ਕੁਬੁਧਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ।।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਮੋਖਿ ਦੁਆਰ।।
ਤਤੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੈ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਇ।।
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਇ।।
ਮਾਨੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਭੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਆਨ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ।।੫੬।।

Kubudh mittey gur shabad bichaar.
Satgur bhetey mokh duaar.
Tatt na cheeney manmukh jal jaaye.
Durmat vichhurh chota khaaye.
Maaney hukam sabhey gunn gyaan.
Nanak dargah paavey maan. 56.

कुबुध मिटे गुर सबद बीचार।।
सतगुर भेटे मोख दुआर।।
तत न चीनै मनमुख जल जाए।।
दुरमत विछुड़ चोटा खाए।।
मानै हुकम सभे गुण गिआन।।
नानक दरगह पावै मान।। 56।।

Answer continued: Ignorance is dispelled by the Guru’s word.
The door to liberation opens when you meet the Guru.
The manmukh does not see the reality therefore he suffers pain.
It is his wanton mind that separates him from the True One.
If only he would follow the hukam he would gain all wisdom.
And he would gain respect and honour in the divine court.
