ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਪਾਏ।।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ।।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ।।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਏ।।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਣ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਇ।।੪੨।।

Gurmukh naam niranjan paaye.
Gurmukh haumei shabad jalaaye.
Gurmukh saachey ke gunn gaaye.
Gurmukh saachey rahey samaaye.
Gurmukh saach naam patt oottam hoye.
Nanak gurmukh sagal bhavan ki sojhi hoye. 42.

गुरमुख नाम निरँजन पाए।।
गुरमुख हउमै सबद जलाए।।
गुरमुख साचे के गुण गाए।।
गुरमुख साचे रहै समाए।।
गुरमुख साच नाम पत ऊतम होए।।
नानक गुरमुख सगल भवन की सोझी होए।। 42।।

The gurmukh attains the all-pervading Naam.
The gurmukh burns his ego with the guru’s word.
The gurmukh sings of the divine qualities
Thus the gurmukh imbibes those qualities in himself.
The gurmukh is praised though he remains absorbed in Naam.
The gurmukh is aware of all the realms of existence.
