ਸਾਚੋ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੂਚੇ ਏਕ ਮਇਆ।।
ਝੂਠੇ ਆਵਹਿ ਠਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣ ਭਇਆ।।
ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣ ਮਿਟੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੈ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਇਆ।।
ਏਕਾ ਬੇਦਨ ਦੂਜੈ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ।।
ਸੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਇਆ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾਰੇ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ।।੨੫।।

Saacho upajey saach samaavey saachey suchey ek mayaa.
Jhoothey aavey thavar na paavey dujey aava gavan bhayaa.
Aava gavan mitey gur shabadi aapey parkhey bakhas layaa.
Eka bedan dujey biyaapi naam rasayan viisarya.
So bujhey jis aap bujhaaye gur ke shabad so mukat bhayaa.
Nanak taarey taaranhara haumei duja parharyaa. 25.

साचो उपजै साच समावै साचे सूचे एक मया।।
झूठे आवे ठवर न पावे दूजै आवा गौण भया।।
आवा गौण मिटे गुर सबदी आपे परखे बखस लया।।
एका बेदन दूजै बिआपी नाम रसायण वीसरिआ।।
सो बूझे जिस आप बुझाए गुर कै सबद सु मुकत भया।।
नानक तारे तारणहारा हउमै दूजा परहरिआ।।

Born out of truth, sustained in truth, we can remain one with the True One
But, we identify with the false and are caught in the cycle of birth and death.
This cycle can be broken with the benevolent Guru’s word.
We suffer from only one ailment — identifying with the other and forgetting the True Naam
Only he can see this clearly and be liberated who is blessed by the Guru
The benevolent Lord will help you ferry across if you remove the ego out of the way.
