ਆਦਿ ਕਉ ਕਵਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਕਥੀਅਲੇ ਸੁੰਨ ਕਹਾ ਘਰ ਵਾਸੋ।।
ਗਿਆਨ ਕੀ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਕਵਨ ਕਥੀਅਲੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਕਵਨ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ।।
ਕਾਲ ਕਾ ਠੀਗਾ ਕਿਉ ਜਲਾਈਅਲੇ ਕਿਉ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ।।
ਸਹਜ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਕਾ ਆਸਣੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਿਉ ਛੇਦੇ ਬੈਰਾਈਐ।।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਰੈ ਤਾ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਾਸੋ।।
ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਿ ਰਚਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੋ।।੨੧।।

Aad ko kavan bichaar kathialey sunn kaha ghar vaaso.
Gyan ki mudra kavan kathialey ghat ghat kavan nivaaso.
Kaal ka theega kyun jalaayeeley kyun nibhau ghar jayeeye.
Sahaj santokh ka aasan jaaney kyun chhedey bairaayeeye.
Gur kae shabad haumei bikh maarey ta nij ghar hovey vaaso.
Jin rach rachya tis shabad pachhaaney Nanak ta ka daaso. 21.

आद को कवन बीचार कथीअले सुँन कहा घर वासो।।
गिआन की मुद्रा कवन कथीअले घट घट कवन निवासो।।
काल का ठीगा क्यों जलाईए क्यों निरभउ घर जाईए।।
सहज सँतोख का आसण जाणे क्यों छेदे बैराईए।।
गुर कै सबद हउमै बिख मारे ता निज घर होवे वासो।।
जिन रच रचिआ तिस सबद पछाणे नानक ता का दासो।। 21।।

Question: What was the state of existence before the creation?
Where in your opinion did the creator reside before the creation?
What were the mudras or methods of acquiring knowledge?
Who was residing in every heart then? How can we avert the blow of death?
How can we achieve the state of fearlessness? How can we conquer our foes?

Answer: In the backdrop of sahaj and contentment
Kill the poison of ego with the Guru’s word
Then only you can remain grounded in your home (self)
I surrender myself to the creator who has revealed the secret through Naam.
