ਮਨੁ ਹਾਲੀ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੀ ਕਰਣੀ
ਸਰਮੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਤਨੁ ਖੇਤੁ।।
ਨਾਮੁ ਬੀਜੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਗਾ ਰਖੁ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਵੇਸੁ।।
ਭਾਉ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਜੰਮਸੀ ਸੇ ਘਰ ਭਾਗਠ ਦੇਖੁ।। ੧ ।।

Mann hali kirsani karni

Saram pani tann khet.

Nam beej santokh suhaga rakh garibi ves.

Bhau karam kar jamsi se ghar bhagath dekh.1.

Make your mind the plough, your body the

Field and water it with labour.

Sow the seed of Nam, level the soil with contentment and keep a humble attitude.

The crop will grow with love; wait for it patiently.

ਇਨਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਗੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ।। ਰਹਾਉ।।

Baba maya sath na hoi.

Maya is not your friend.

This world is enchanted by maya; only a rare person can see it.

ਹਾਣੁ ਹਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਆਰਜਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਵਥੁ।।
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੋਚ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਂਡਸਾਲ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਰਖੁ।।
ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਸਿਉ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਮਨ ਹਸੁ।। ੨ ।।

Haan hut kar aarja sach nam kar vath.

Surat soch kar bhandsal tis vich tis no rakh.

Vanjariya sio vanaj kar lai laha mann hus.2.

Make your age the shop, keep the merchandise of Nam in it.

Let awareness be the container and store remembrance in it.

Deal with the lovers of Nam and make a handsome profit.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਸਉਦਾਗਰੀ ਸਤੁ ਘੋੜੇ ਲੈ ਚਲੁ।।
ਖਰਚੁ ਬੰਨੁ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਮਤੁ ਮਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਕਲੁ।।
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕੈ ਦੇਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖਿ ਲਹਹਿ ਮਹਲੁ।। ੩ ।।

Sunn sasat saudagiri sat ghorhey lai chal.

Kharch bann changiayian mat mann janhe kal.

Nirankar ke des jahey ta such lahey mahal.3.

Listen to the scriptures and gain knowledge.

Keep the currency of good deeds lest tomorrow does not come .

Your ultimate destination is your union with the formless one.

ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਕੰਮ।।
ਬੰਨੁ ਬਦੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਵਣੀ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਧੰਨੁ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਚੜੈ ਚਵਗਣ ਵੰਨ।। ੪।।

Laye chitt kar chakri mann nam kar kamm.

Bann badiyan kar dhavni ta ko aakhey dhan.

Nanak dekhey nadarkar charhey chavagan vann.4.

Serve with dedication, doing only one thing, which is remembering Him.

Remain grounded in yourself.

Nanak says then His compassionate look will fall on you and you will blossom fully.
